-
Visit a dentist
The best way to combat bad breath is regular visits to a dentist. Frequent dental checkups will get you to know the cause of foul smell from the mouth. The dentist will frequently clean the teeth from stains, food debris and tooth decay that might be causing bad breath. So make sure to visit a dentist regularly and get your prescription drugs online in case the dentist recommends anything.
-
Brush teeth and floss regularly
Bad breath is caused by bacteria in the mouth. Cleaning teeth helps get rid of that foul-smelling bacteria. Brush your teeth twice a day and floss regularly to limit the birth of bacteria in your mouth. This will prevent tooth decay as well. However, brushing your teeth too much can weaken the enamel and cause sensitivity issues so brushing twice a day is enough.
- Gargle
Gargle is the act of rinsing your mouth. Do this more frequently with water. Invest in mouthwash and use it regularly after brushing your teeth. A good mouthwash will help get rid of bacteria and give fresher breath.
- Clean your tongue
It is a fact that bad breath is mostly caused by bacteria in the mouth, but most people don’t know that this bacteria is more on the tongue than on teeth. The tongue is like a breeding ground of bacteria. You can guess your oral hygiene by looking at your tongue. If you have bad breath, your tongue might have a yellowish or whitish coat. This indicates that your tongue is not clean. When brushing your teeth, gently clean your tongue with the back of the toothbrush.
- Chew gums
The acid build-up is responsible for bad breath. Candies and mints are not effective for covering bad breath as they are sweet and bacteria loves sweets. Chew sugar-free gums with xylitol, which is a natural sweetener. This is effective in fighting bad breath, tooth decay and gum diseases. Chewing gums stimulate saliva production in the mouth which is the first level of defence against bacteria.
