Over 30 of the highest ranked bowl riders in the world were on hand at the Oi / Hi Bowl Jam January 23-25, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to open the World Bowl Circuit. Five-time world champ and number one bowl rider, Pedro Barros came out on top once again, but his job was not an easy one, given the depth of talent shredding the bowl at Parque de Madureira.
This was the first time the competition integrated the International Skateboarders Union (ISU) and the points for World Cup Skateboarding, as it was also a WCSk8 sanctioned event. The event was also Vi Kakinho’s pro debut.

“We were very pleased with the result of the first edition of the bowl of the world at home and with the engagement of the public. This confirmed what we have always believed: that the Rio de Janeiro and Madureira have all the ingredients to become, increasingly, centers of major events of extreme sports,” said Marcia Casz, Vice President of SPorts IMX.
The Oi Bowl Jam 2015 was sponsored by Hi, G-Shock, Oakley, embers, CEF, Netshoes, Coca-Cola, Rexona, Lorenzetti, and support from the State Government of Rio de Janeiro and the Rio de Janeiro City Hall.
The event was sanctioned by World Cup Skateboarding (WCS) with International Skateboarders Union, coordination of the Brazilian Confederation of Skate (CBSK) IMX.
