Shawn Layden Joins Women Who Code Board of Advisors

SAN FRANCISCO - APRIL 27, 2016—Women Who Code (WWCode), a 501c3 that works to inspire women to achieve success in technology careers, is proud to announce the latest addition to their Board of Advisors, Chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Worldwide Studios, Shawn Layden. Layden joins an all-star board of technology leaders, including Head of Security Operations at Facebook, Regina Wallace-Jones; General Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Michael Abbott; and Vice President of Central Engineering at VMware, Lily Chang.
Together with the team at WWCode, Layden will help expand and promote the organization’s mission to increase the number of women in the technology workforce. In his role at SIE, Layden is a champion of increased diversity in the game development community, which is vital for creating content that appeals to the diverse gaming audience.

In joining the Board of Advisors, Layden is an advocate for Women Who Code’s mission of supporting women in technology around the world. His expertise and experience will further the success and impact of the rapidly growing non-profit that has tripled in membership year-over-year and expanded to 60 cities in 20 countries.
