CEO of 3D Simulation Engineering company to call for an increased emphasis on technical skills during NextGen 14

Companies looking to recruit technical staff to expand their businesses are finding it increasingly difficult to do so according to Justin Lyon, CEO of Simudyne and keynote speaker at NextGen14, the flagship two day conference to be held on 11th and 12th November in Derby.

Lyon’s comments follow an Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) study earlier this year which found that at least a third of the 400 employers surveyed do not expect to get the “suitably qualified” applicants they need for their technical or IT projects.

Lyon adds: “Technical skills like computer engineering, design and programming are increasingly important and we need to raise awareness of the job opportunities in the digital community. Without an increased emphasis on those with technical know-how, a vital part of the UK economy begins to fall into crisis."
